Web Site Management and Marketing for Law Firms
Web site management and marketing after the site goes up is critical to overall success. I know I am repeating myself, but it is much easier when you start with an optimized design from the beginning.
If you didn't or don't, those management tasks can require some repairs to the site to prevent tasks from becoming difficult and expensive. Even Pay Per Click or PPC advertising at Google is cheaper when your optimized ads there land on optimized pages.
I recommend these web site management and marketing tasks to be at the top of your list:
- Do learn all you can about your visitors and their habits when arriving at your site. (It's not personal information you seek and none is available to you.) What pages do they go to and not go to? Are they following your marketing funnel?
- Know what keywords you are marketing and what keywords are finding you. If optimized correctly, your visitors have used the keywords designed in your strategy. As a bonus, word combinations similar to the keyword phrases used in your design also begin to multiply.
- Know where traffic comes from. Is it PPC, word of mouth referrals, online referrals or search engines? How about ads you have paid for offline with your domain name in them?
- Decide who is minding the store. Never let a web site sit without updates. Add new content with new keywords often. Take actions to insure you can interpret what statistics are saying to do and not do.
- Do submit an XML sitemap to Google of all pages on your site. Update that map every time your site is updated most especially for new pages.
- Do use the keywords in your statistics to search Google and check your rankings. Do not use Web Position Gold or similar software to do that as it violates their rules.
- Do get help if any of the above are totally foreign to you as to what to do, because web site management and marketing does not end there, it starts there.
We can help you with most web site management and marketing tasks.
I don't say all because we choose to specialize in keyword research, organic search engine rankings, PPC, statistics management and reporting, or training those in your firm in charge of these vital tasks.
Google Analytics is by far my favorite management tool and it's free from the people that supply over 71% of search results.
Don't do online marketing without traffic statistics and always ask your callers where they heard about you. Always tell clients your domain name and mention it often in your business circle. And don't forget, letter heads and business cards need your domain name.
