Google SEO Guide

The Google seo guide is the most exciting publication for webmasters and site owners to be published in many years. Some of us already know much of the material, but I personally believe that few webmasters practice the art of seo.

I say that because I very often see the results of their work; or lack of results as is generally the case.

To be fair, webmasters can and do create awesome looking web sites. But looks are graphics, and do not have a bearing on how well your site ranks at search engines where people are looking for your services.

Am I a webmaster?
Yes, a certified SBI webmaster. I built this site, wrote the content with edits from Trish Andrews, and my staff helped with the looks. I'm responsible for the parts that get results.

The difference in other webmasters and me is they sell web sites. I sell services to research, plan, build and get results from websites. Looks come last in our program. The reason why?

Google explains it perfectly. Here's the exact words the Google SEO Guide begins with:

Google's Search Engine Optimization
Starter Guide
Version 1.1, published 13 November 2008

Welcome to Google's Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide. This document first began as an effort to help teams within Google, but we thought it'd be just as useful to webmasters that are new to the topic of search engine optimization and wish to improve their sites' interaction with both users and search engines. Although this guide won't tell you any secrets that'll automatically rank your site first for queries in Google (sorry!), following the best practices outlined below will make it easier for search engines to both crawl and index your content.

Search engine optimization is often about making small modifications to parts of your website. When viewed individually, these changes might seem like incremental improvements, but when combined with other optimizations, they could have a noticeable impact on your site's user experience and performance in organic search results. You're likely already familiar with many of the topics in this guide, because they're essential ingredients for any webpage, but you may not be making the most
out of them.

Do take notice of this above: "You're likely already familiar with many of the topics in this guide, because they're essential ingredients for any webpage, but you may not be making the most out of them."

My free consultation is a great place to start results.

These services provide those essential ingredients.

(We are not associated with Google in anyway. I pass this information along to webmasters and site owners because it's what has to happen to see results.)

the crook that is feared most,
it is the honest man who
doesn't know what he is doing."
